Bridge Street widening project update (March 1): S 40th Avenue and Bridge Street intersection to close next week
(The following schedule is weather dependent and subject to change)
-Starting Monday, March 4, the S 40th Avenue and Bridge Street intersection will experience a full closure for storm sewer installations. This closure is expected to be in place 24/7 for the next several weeks. Drivers will be detoured south on Telluride Street or S 45th Avenue to Southern Street to access S 40th Avenue during this time. Please follow signage on-site and see the detour map above for more details.
-Crews will continue to operate along Bridge Street within the permanent traffic realignment from 22nd Avenue to 40th Avenue through next week. One lane of through-traffic will remain open in both directions at all times.
-For drivers traveling westbound on Bridge Street, there will be no left turns onto 27th Avenue. Drivers are encouraged to continue west to make a lefthand turn at 22nd Avenue.
-Temporary localized closures may take place within the project zone throughout the week.
-Speed limit reductions are in place within the project zone.
-Trucks and heavy equipment will continue to enter and exit the roadway within the project zone, so drivers are encouraged to slow down, watch for workers and equipment, and leave plenty of space in between vehicles. Please be mindful and exercise extreme caution when traveling through construction areas.
