The City of Brighton Minor Home Repair program is now accepting applications from homeowners needing assistance in making necessary heath and safety repairs to their home. The program, administered through Adams County, provides grants, technical assistance and contract management to eligible homeowners.
For more information or to apply, please contact Adams County Community Development's website or call 720-523-6200.
To be eligible, applicants must be an Adams County resident living within Brighton city limits, own the home (name must be on the Deed of Trust), live in the home as primary residence and meet established income guidelines.
Common repairs made through the program are furnaces, plumbing, hot water heaters, windows, electrical and roof repair. Priority is given to items needed to establish a healthy, safe and sanitary home.
An initial telephone interview is conducted to determine preliminary eligibility. After the phone interview, an application is mailed to homeowners who meet preliminary eligibility requirements and income guidelines. If the application is approved, the Adams County housing coordinator will conduct an on-site visit to determine essential repairs needed.
