[ARCHIVED] Bridge Street widening project update: Nov. 3, 2023

Monday, November 6: The south side of the Telluride Street and Bridge Street intersection will be closed. Drivers will be detoured south on Tower Road (S 40th Avenue) or S 27th Avenue to Southern Street to access Telluride Street from the south end. There will be no thru-traffic on Telluride Street at the Bridge Street intersection, however residences and side streets on Telluride will remain accessible through the detour during the closure. Bridge Street will maintain east and westbound thru-traffic at the intersection. See the detour map below for details.

Tuesday, November 7: The north side of the Telluride Street and Bridge Street intersection will be closed. Drivers will be detoured north on N 42nd Avenue and east on Longs Peak Street to access Telluride Street from the north end. There will be no thru-traffic on Telluride Street at the Bridge Street intersection, however residences and side streets on Telluride will remain accessible through the detour during the closure. Bridge Street will maintain east and westbound thru-traffic at the intersection. See the detour map below for details.

Wednesday - Friday, November 8-10: Eastbound traffic will shift north into the westbound lane on Bridge Street from Telluride Street heading east. There will be one thru-lane of traffic open for east and westbound travelers during this time. There will be an additional lane shift at the 27th and Bridge Street intersection heading west, with one thru-lane of traffic open in both directions.

Starting next week, the Telluride and Bridge Street intersection stop lights will be set on a timer instead of a vehicle detection system while work takes place surrounding the intersection.

Material trucks will continue to enter and exit the roadway within the project zone, so drivers are encouraged to slow down, watch for workers and equipment, and leave plenty of space in between vehicles. Please be mindful and exercise extreme caution when traveling through construction areas.

After widening operations begin, motorists will start to see more permanent traffic realignments, lane closures and reduced driving speeds within the project work zone.

Water Outage Notice: On Monday, November 6, there will be a water outage from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for a main waterline tie-in at the 191 Telluride Street office buildings. While this work is taking place, all running water will be unavailable and there will be some noise/vibrations from the equipment being used. Once the work has been completed, crews will flush the main water line which might cause some temporary discolored or cloudy water. We encourage everyone that is affected to run a cold faucet at full pressure until the water is clear.
