The Brighton community is invited to attend the Sable Boulevard Design Public Meeting on Thursday, June 12 at 6 p.m. at the Adams County Government Center (4430 S. Adams County Parkway). The meeting will be held in the Brantner Gulch Conference Room.
This meeting will provide an opportunity for residents, business owners and corridor users to learn about and provide input on planned roadway improvements along a four-mile stretch of the Sable Boulevard corridor — from E. 120th Avenue to Bromley Lane.
The proposed improvements aim to enhance safety, mobility, and connectivity throughout the corridor. Planned features include, but are not limited to:
- Addition of trail segments on the East side of Sable Blvd. to create a continuous pedestrian path from E. 120th Ave. to Bromley Lane
- Widening of Sable Boulevard from one lane in each direction to two lanes each direction
- Updated pavement striping
- Addition of concrete curb and gutter along various segments of Sable Boulevard
- Milling and overlaying existing asphalt with new asphalt pavement
- Addition of turn lanes at various intersections
- Addition of a roundabout at 136th Avenue
- Widening and reconstructing E. 144th Avenue at Sable Boulevard
- Upgrades and additions to traffic signals along the corridor
- Various storm drainage improvements including: new culvert crossings, culvert widenings, new drainage ditches, and storm sewer outfall improvements
As part of the design and construction process, right-of-way will be acquired on an as-needed basis.
