Brighton City Council on Tuesday approved a $2.93 million change order with Brannan Sand and Gravel, LLC, to support the completion of the Bridge Street widening project. The funding addresses underground complications, along with the additional improvements associated with right-of-way acquisitions and regional storm drainage modifications needed for project success.
The Bridge Street widening project is more than 80 percent finished and projected to be completed near the end of summer. Crews are currently focused on preparing the subgrade and placing the remaining pavement, installing medians with landscaping, completing traffic signals, concrete, signage and striping, and stabilizing embankments on the more than 100-year-old roadway. The city appreciates the community’s continued patience as crews diligently work to complete this project.
