Working hours will take place from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.*
Permanent traffic realignments will continue on Bridge Street between 22nd and 42nd Avenue. Starting on Friday, September 20, crews will be working on the median which will require additional traffic reconfigurations. One lane of through-traffic will remain open in either direction, but please be aware of these changes to the existing alignments when navigating the construction zone. There will be designated turn areas for business access, with some temporary restrictions throughout the duration of work. At least one entry point will remain open for all businesses and residents along Bridge Street.
On Thursday, September 19, the traffic signal at 27th Avenue will be switched over to the permanent structure. While crews remove the temporary signal, drivers can expect up to 5 minute holds on Bridge Street intermittently throughout the day. After Thursday, the signal will be completed and operational.
Starting on Friday, September 20, through the middle of next week, the intersection of Bridge Street and 40th Avenue will require left-turn restrictions. The intersection will be right-in, right-out turns only. Drivers will not be able to turn left from 40th Avenue onto westbound Bridge Street and westbound travelers on Bridge Street will not be able to turn left onto 40th Avenue. Alternate routes are advised.
Village Hill Drive and Firehouse Road will be shifting to a permanent right-in, right-out only turn configuration starting at the end of this week. This permanent configuration is a part of the project’s overall goal of reducing traffic and enhancing the safety of accident-prone turning areas.
The west access point to the 27J HR building is now closed. Please utilize the eastern driveway off of Bridge Street to get in and out of the facility.
Additional temporary localized closures may take place throughout the project corridor for utility operations.
Speed limit reductions are in place within the project zone. Additional traffic enforcement will be patrolling the construction zone to ensure the safety of the project team and traveling public.
Trucks and heavy equipment will continue to enter and exit the roadway within the project zone, so drivers are encouraged to slow down, watch for workers and equipment, and leave plenty of space in between vehicles. Please be mindful and exercise extreme caution when traveling through construction areas.
The project team thanks you for your continued patience and cooperation throughout the course of construction.
