Bridge Street Widening Update: June 7

-Regular permanent traffic realignments will continue on Bridge Street from 22nd Avenue to 40th Avenue through the end of next week. Crews will be performing storm sewer work and grading for curb, gutter and sidewalk installations from 22nd Avenue to Telluride Street on the north side of Bridge Street.

-Starting June 7, through Saturday, June 8, there will be a one-way flagging operation on 40th Avenue as part of a separate project. Crews will be paving south of the fire station to Southern Street.

-Starting June 7, there will be an additional temporary single lane closure with flagging operations on Bridge Street between Telluride Street and Village Hill Drive.

-On Wednesday next week, there will be an additional northbound lane closure on 40th Avenue from Estrella Street to Bridge Street. The southbound lane will remain open for emergency access only off of Bridge Street. Drivers are encouraged to use Telluride Street as an alternative route during this time.  

-For drivers traveling westbound on Bridge Street, there will be no left turns onto 27th Avenue. Drivers are encouraged to continue west to make a lefthand turn at 22nd Avenue.

-Speed limit reductions are in place within the project zone. Additional traffic enforcement will be patrolling the construction zone to ensure the safety of the project team and traveling public.

-Trucks and heavy equipment will continue to enter and exit the roadway within the project zone, so drivers are encouraged to slow down, watch for workers and equipment, and leave plenty of space in between vehicles. Please be mindful and exercise extreme caution when traveling through construction areas.
