This morning, the DEA requested the combined Brighton/Commerce City Police Department's Tactical Team assist in a criminal investigation at Eastgate Village Mobile Home Park, 3060 E Bridge St. While other federal agencies were involved in the operation, we want to clarify that it was not related to immigration enforcement.

DEA Rocky Mountain Field Division Assistant Special Agent in Charge Olesky said, "We're grateful for the support provided by the Brighton Police Department in support of this long-term DEA and HIDTA Front Range Task Force Investigation. This operation is focusing on the Sinaloa cartel and threat they pose to public safety via violent crime and drug trafficking."

There are no active safety concerns for residents in the area. The DEA is leading the investigation and will provide any further details.
