Brighton Police Department is investigating a fatal crash that occurred on Nov. 3 at approximately 9:30 a.m. at a construction site near East 144th Avenue and Primrose Circle. The initial investigation reveals that a construction worker operating a dump truck was traveling slowly in reverse when they ran over another worker.

The 65-year-old male victim was unresponsive upon officer arrival, and later pronounced deceased on scene. His identity is being withheld pending positive identification by the coroner’s office and notification of next of kin.

The truck driver, a 46-year-old male, was arrested for careless driving causing death. He was uninjured, cooperative, and showed no signs of impairment. This is an ongoing investigation.
