Brighton Police Department is investigating a hit and run crash where a 35-year-old female was seriously injured while riding her bicycle on East Bridge Street near 27th Avenue. Officers were dispatched to the area on Sept. 18 just after 1:30 a.m. for a medical emergency. Their initial investigation indicated that the female had been struck by a motor vehicle that was no longer on scene.

The female was transported to the hospital by ambulance, and later flown to a different hospital for further care. She remains in critical condition at this time. After further investigation, officers determined that a silver Dodge Ram pickup truck was likely involved. Investigators were not able to get the suspect’s license plate.
