Payment Options

Pay Your Utility Bill Online

You can pay online using a bank account or credit or debit card. There is no additional fee for paying online. Payments made in-person or by check are not immediately be reflected on this platform.

Pay Your General Bill Online

If you owe money to the City that is not for a utility bill the City will issue you an invoice. Pay your invoice that is due to the City here. To make a one-time payment, click “Pay Invoice”. You will need the invoice number from your invoice in order to make a payment.

Pay Your Utility Bill by Phone

Call 877-421-2029 for the Automatic Payment System. Note: that this system will ask for your account number twice.

Mail Your Utility Billing Payment to Lockbox

You can mail a check to the City's Lockbox. Checks go directly to the City's bank which processes the check, deposits the funds to the City's account, and forwards the information so that the payment can be posted to your account. If you are trying to avoid shut off or make a quick payment, we do not recommend this option as there is a payment processing delay. Please note our new lockbox mailing address is:

Drop of Payments at City Hall Drop Box

Drop a check in the drop box located outside City Hall across the main entrance next to the ballot box and post office box. Please no cash in the drop box. Drop box payments are processed the next business days. 

In-person: Stop by our office located at Brighton City Hall, 500 S 4th Ave., Monday - Friday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. MST. Cash is only accepted in person. You can also pay via check or using a Visa or Mastercard.

Utility Bill Due Dates

The City of Brighton reads water meters on a monthly basis according to geographic section or area called a route. Each route reads at a different time of the month and has a pre-determined read schedule ensuring cycles are between 28 and 32 days in length. Due dates will be on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th Wednesday of the month according to the account's Cycle/Route.

Due dates are on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th Wednesday of the month according to your Cycle/Route which can be found on your bill under usage information or on your bill stub.

  • Cycle/Route 1: Due 2nd Wednesday of the Month
  • Cycle/Route 2: Due 3rd Wednesday of the Month
  • Cycle/Route 3: Due 4th Wednesday of the Month
  • Cycle/Route 6: Due 1st Wednesday of the Month
