How the program works
Customers may be eligible to receive $1 for every square foot of turf removed from the yard.
Example: Removing 1000 ft² of turf is eligible for $1000.00 rebate.
The first thing is to know is you'll want to have a plan for your yard with a good idea of the design you'll want. To be sure your plan will be approved, follow all of the rules listed below and try to make your yard more of a xeriscape type of design. It's best to check with your HOA before submitting your plan.
Make a detailed drawing with dimensions of your plan. Email the drawing to the Water Conservation Coordinator at
waterconservation@brightonco.gov. Once the drawing is approved, the project construction can begin.
A list of everything required to receive the incentive:
All receipts from contractors
A list of materials purchased and the receipts to complete the project if it's a DIY
List of all plant types included in the project
Before and after pictures of the project
Once the project and physical inspection of the completed, a secure link will be provided to submit your W9 form. After the submission the check will be in process.
If you have any questions, reach out to the Water Conservation Coordinator.
