  1. REGION SCHOLARSHIP AMOUNT DESCRIPTION
    Local Adams County Opportunity Scholarship $15,000 Must attend 27J school district, have a 2.5 GPA, must demonstrate and verify financial need as determined by FAFSA. The student must have been actively involved in community service and show a resume that includes such service, awards, accomplishment, work history. Must write an essay on what opportunity means to them, their family and community. Recipient must enroll in a Colorado public university, college, community college or vocational school.     Local Aims Community College Scholarships Varies Scholarships through Aims Community College
    Local Brighton Housing Authority $1,000 Four scholarships are available to high school juniors, seniors or non-traditional students. Terra Management Scholarship is awarded to an academically high performing student with plans to enter a trade school, college or university. Maria Alvarado Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a student who has displayed an upward trend in their academic performance during high school. Jessica Hara Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a student with a passion for animals and plans to carry this passion into a post-secondary program that will lead to a career in the care of animals. Dori Benavides Memorial Scholarship awarded to a student who plans to pursue a career in education or law.
    Local Brighton Legacy Foundation's Continuing Education Scholarship $1,000 Applicant must reside within School District 27J, have at least a 2.5 GPA, must be accepted at a college, university, technical or vocational school, and not be related to a member of the Legacy Foundation Board of Directors.
    Local City of Brighton Employee Charities Scholarship $500 Must attend 27J School District, have a 2.5 GPA, letter of acceptance from a college, university, technical or vocational school. Documentation of community service, letter of recommendation, 500-word essay on positive community service. Must not be related to a BEC Committee Member.     Local Hispanic Advisory Committee $2,500 Seven scholarships in the amount of $2,500 will be awarded to graduating seniors in need of assistance financing their educational goals and who show promise of making contributions to the Hispanic community of School District 27J.     Local P.E.O. Chapter BN Brighton $1,000 Local chapter offering several $1,000 scholarships to Brighton area senior high school girls. Applicants must exhibit a potential for future success, plan to attend a trade/technical school or accredited institute of higher education. Applicant must be prepared for a 15-30 minute interview with the scholarship committee and must also answer 3 out of 5 questions that are listed in the application form.      Local The Dream.US $14,500 - $29,000 High school students about to graduate or have already graduated and community college graduates are eligible to apply. Please visit the website to see all the eligibility requirements.
    Local United Power Scholarship $1,000 For students whose families are served by United Power or dependents of members.
     Local Ye Old Auto Club Scholarship $500 The student must be pursuing a career in the automotive field. Community and school participation, along with a 250-word essay on the topic: Why should Ye Old Auto Club award you this scholarship? Must attend the following schools: Eagle Ridge Academy, Brighton High School, Prairie View High School or be a member of the Brighton community. The student must be a high school student or a continuing or non-traditional student.
