    This program provides instruction by Coach John Martinez in track and field events. Everyone can participate! The recreation center fields a team for the 2023 summer CARA track and field meets. Ages: 5-8 Tue & Thu - Practice Saturday - Meets Time: 6-7 p.m. Ages: 9-16 Tue & Thu - Practice Saturday - Meets Time: 7-8:30 p.m.

    Your kids love to paint and create, but the thought of getting out the craft supplies and cleaning up after makes you twitch... Kids ‘n Canvas to the rescue! In just two hours, a Gallery Guide will instruct a fun and fabulous piece of art while painters follow along creating their own MYsterpiece! It’s guaranteed to bring out creativity, fun and laughter. But don’t worry, no art-smarts are needed. Painters will follow simple step-by-step instructions. It’s not a painting class.....it’s a painting pARTy! Artwork is pre-selected, but creativity is encouraged! Class includes all supplies, snacks and fun!

  3. Youth Strength and Development

    Ages: 11-14 At the foundation of training youth is the philosophy that ALL children should be provided the opportunity to develop their physical, mental, and social skills. A 2 day/week comprehensive 60-minute program that is designed for children ages 11-14. The first 30 minutes of the workout is spent on movement and power which includes an active warm up, linear and lateral speed development, power development, quickness, plyometrics (jumping), and core strengthening. The second part of the workout is dedicated to explosive power and strength, increasing overall body strength and various forms of conditioning. The workout consists of functionally sound movement and strength training with a strong focus on basic and proper technique. The workout becomes progressively more challenging once basic movements have been mastered.
