To acquire land across from the police department to construct an outdoor community amplitheater. The theater could be used for summer stock theater, school concerts, movie nights, weddings and concert series. It would be a good source for the arts as well as a revenue source for the city. With the naturally occurring slope in that location it would be ideal for a clam shell style theater and provide pretty vistas of the mountains in the back drop.

I walk my kids to and from school on most days as we live fairly close. I am disappointed at the lack of respect that drivers have for pedestrians even when you are standing in the street and have two small children also waiting to cross. In Washington, where I grew up, pedestrians have the right of way at any intersection, whether there is a crosswalk painted or not. Is that not the law here in Colorado? The problem area I have is Longspeak street all the way from 4th ave down to 11th near the rec center where I also walk with my children. Drivers have no respect and no regard for the laws of speed or safety of pedestrians on the road.
The resolution Port Angeles, WA made for this problem: A police officer waited at an unmarked street to cross. He even had his foot off of the sidewalk to show he was needing to cross. On another street over and visible to drivers was a police officer in a squad car. Every time someone did not stop... they were given a ticket. Problem solved.

As Brighton senior population grows we should continue to invest in their health and well being. the adult recreation center has been a big hit. Phase 2 the exercise area is needed.

It has been several years since the Oasis water park was built while it is great. We
need a swimming pool.
