While I understand the economic impact of banning fracking completely, there is no reason why this needs to be done in people's back yards. Fracking should not be allowed in neighborhoods. It lowers property values and makes it 100 times harder to sell your home. There are even mortgage companies that will not give mortgates to homes within 500 feet of fracking. You need to stop these energy companies from mailing out these horrible lease packages that only benefit the energy company, while destroying everything else around it. If you are looking for Brighon to become the next desolate oil zone, then do nothing, but if the city really wants Brighton to actually be a great city, then you need to do something now.

Citizens of Brighton have become fed up with the city not cleaning up the trash lining the main roads in the city limits. Drive along 160th Ave. and look at the trash. We pay taxes and expect the city to keep the roadsides clean. I have yet to ever see anyone picking up trash or a road cleaner in all the years I have lived here. This eye sore does not attract people to Brighton. Another huge eye sore or piles of trash are located at hwy, 85 and Baseline Rd. The city needs to start posting no littering signs and enforce them. I think it is in the best interest of Brighton and the environment around us to have more options for the citizens of the community to properly dispose of hazardous waste materials. I would like to to hazardous waste round ups on a monthly basis that is more convenient to the citizens. Because this is not easily available people throw chemicals and other hazardous materials into their trash which is horrible for the environment.

It is time that the city of Brighton change the rule's in regards to decorations in all 4 of it's owned cemeteries. Our home and property abuts next to Fairview. Since moving here 6 years ago one of my jobs is picking up plastic flowers , shredded plastic flowers, ribbon , balloons , stuffed teddy bear's , used condom wrappers and about anything and everything one can imagine on our property. The bit's of plastic which is shiny is eaten by the bird and kill's them The trash is in our soil and the ponds below our home. This is not good for the environment. Due to the high winds this material is picked up distributed on to our property and beyond. As far as we "the neighbors" are concerned the city is littering on private property. Not many cities allow this. Why Brighton? We have been unsuccessful over the year's working this out with the city. Brighton is very lax in regards to it's litter laws. I would like hear if anyone else living near one of the 4 cemeteries have the same issue.
