BRIGHTON – Brighton Police arrested two fugitives at the Best Western, Brighton Inn Wednesday night. An alert employee called the police after the suspect’s pictures were shown by the Longmont Police department in a Crime Stoppers broadcast during the evening news. The fugitives had registered at the hotel using an alias, three nights earlier.
Brighton officers contacted the Longmont Police Department and verified the identity of the two fugitives.
When officers arrived at the hotel both of the fugitives were trying to escape through a side door. Bianca Montiel was taken into custody without incident. Montiel was arrested for five warrants, four of which are felonies and a new charge of possession of Methamphetamine. Christopher Ureste fled from officers and led them on a foot pursuit for about quarter-mile before he was caught by Corporal Keith Soustek. Ureste was arrested for 10 warrants, nine of which are felonies. All of the warrants were related to identity theft and other property crimes.
Both parties were taken to the Adams County Detention Facility in Brighton.
The Longmont Police Department was notified of the arrests and responded to assist in the investigation.
