The Brighton Recreation Center will be celebrating its 20th anniversary on Saturday, Oct. 12 and invites residents to come take part in the “birthday bash” festivities. Festivities will include free admission all day, treats in the lobby, giveaways, and a special presentation at 10 a.m. with Mayor Dick McLean, City Manager Manuel Esquibel and other current and former leaders.
The Brighton Recreation Center opened its doors in 1993. The center currently offer more than 30 drop in fitness classes, nine cycling classes and 10 water-based group exercise classes each week – including two classes on Saturday morning. The facility includes a lap pool, zero entry leisure pool with a play structure, hot tub, sauna, steam room, all new weight training equipment in the remodeled upstairs fitness area, cardio machines, an indoor walking/running track, a full size gymnasium, free weight area and two racquetball courts.
