The City of Brighton is nearing completion of the North Outfall- Baseline Alignment Capital Improvement Project. The project began in early 2022 and consists of the construction of a regional stormwater outfall system. Once complete, the outfall system will allow for the proper drainage of existing and future developments in the area bounded by Bridge Street to the south, N. 40th Avenue to the east, Baseline Road to the north and N. 19th Avenue to the west. The system carries stormwater runoff from the developments, through a series of open channels and piped conveyances and, ultimately, to the South Platte River near Baseline Road and US Highway 85.
In order for the last stage of construction to occur, several trails and sidewalks will be closed in the area of N. 19th Avenue and Midland Place. Please see the below map for the locations of the closures, work area, new outfall system and associated signage.
The project is scheduled to be completed in March 2023. The project was managed under a regional partnership between the City of Brighton and the Mile High Flood District. The general contractor for the project was BT Construction of Henderson, CO.
