On Sunday, Aug. 7, at approximately 1 a.m., officers of the Brighton Police Department responded to a call of shots fired in the 300 block of County Road 27 (North Main Street). Upon arrival, officers learned that a fight at a large house party spilled into the street where multiple shots were fired, and individuals involved in the shooting had fled the scene.
Later that morning, at 1:41 a.m., officers received notification from a metro hospital that a 24-year-old male, who was struck by a bullet in the head, was transported by private vehicle from the reported location to the hospital. The victim is currently in critical condition. This incident is currently under investigation by the Brighton Police Department.
