Brighton City Council will host their annual City Barbecue on Thursday, July 21 from 5:30 - 8 p.m. at Carmichael Park (650 E. Southern Street).
At this community event, residents will have the opportunity to meet City Council members and learn about upcoming projects in their ward. City departments, local organizations and nonprofits will also be in attendance to provide information. This event will also mark Brighton’s 135th birthday.
As in previous years, there will be live music at the event as part of the City’s summer movie and concert series, Flix & Kicks. Kicking off the night will be Denver’s 80’s tribute band Ronnie Raygun and the Big Eighties, which will perform at 6 p.m. In addition, there will be children's activities like face painting.
For the second year, youth who have completed the Youth Entrepreneurship Program will be presenting their businesses and have their products available for purchase. Learn more about the program here.
Meals will be free, while supplies last (first come, first served).
Residents are highly encouraged to bring picnic blankets, lawn chairs, sunscreen, bug repellent and drinking water.
