[ARCHIVED] Brighton Oasis and Recreation Center in urgent need of lifeguards and swim instructors

BRC Pool Area

Are you or someone you know interested in being a lifeguard or swim instructor to help us save the summer? Due to the Brighton Oasis Family Aquatic Park and Brighton Recreation Center pool facing a critical shortage of qualified lifeguards and swim instructors, the City of Brighton is in urgent need of about 35 more lifeguards and 20 more swim instructors. These positions need to be filled in order to offer the City’s full lineup of operational hours and programming at both facilities. Without the increase in staffing, there is a possibility of rolling closures at both facilities that could impact what pools and amenities are available each day, as well as cancellations of swim lesson programming.

To apply, click here. Compensation for lifeguards (must be at least 15 years old) starts at $15 per hour. Compensation for lifeguard/swim instructors (must be at least 16 years old) starts at $15.75 per hour. For candidates who are working at the Brighton Recreation Center or Brighton Oasis, the City offers free lifeguard certification and free swim instructor training.

To find more information about lifeguard training, click this link. Swim instructor training is provided once a candidate has been hired.

If you have questions, please contact Sara Heisdorffer, Recreation Supervisor of Aquatics, at sheisdorffer@brightonco.gov or 303-655-2212.
