The Brighton community is urged to sign up for the high-speed notification system CodeRED to get alerts in the event of an emergency. The system allows city of Brighton safety agencies to deliver emergency messages to you based on your preferences through a phone call, text and/or email.

Examples of CodeRED emergency alerts include severe weather, public health emergencies, criminal activity, evacuation notices, fires, floods and missing person cases. To receive the alerts, residents must sign up for these notifications – you are not automatically entered into the system.

Signing up for CodeRED alerts is free to residents who live and work in Adams County. To register, visit the city’s Notifications Page here. From the “Register Here” link, you will be directed to create a user profile entering your contact information. In addition, residents can call 303-655-8744 and ask for assistance in registering their information into the CodeRED system.

When you receive a CodeRED alert, the number 855-969-4636 will appear on your caller ID.

On Monday, April 4 at 12 p.m., the City of Brighton will test CodeRED. Individuals who have signed up for the system should expect to receive an alert at that time.

Information is not shared or distributed and is only used for emergency notification purposes.

Note: If you live on the borders of Adams County, it’s advised to also register with the neighboring county’s system to receive their emergency notifications.

If you have questions about CodeRED, please contact Stephanie Hackett, Emergency Management Coordinator, at shackett@brightonco.gov 303-655-2316.
