Plant a tree this Earth Day with free saplings and seeds from the City of Brighton. The saplings and seeds giveaway will take place on Earth Day, Friday, April 22 from 7:30 - 9:30 a.m. in the parking lot of City Hall located at 500 S. 4th Avenue. Three species of young trees will be available for the public to choose from: Chokecherry (Prunus virginiana), Burr Oak (Querus macrocarpa) and Sugar Maple (Acer saccharum). Limit two saplings per individual (first come, first served), while supplies last.
“The hope is that beyond this Earth Day, our community will be reminded to protect the planet and promote environmental awareness in their everyday lives,” said Bob Woods, Open Space and Forestry Manager.
