The City of Brighton’s Sculpture on Loan program is pleased to announce the 2021 People’s Choice Award winner, “Dancing Flame” by artist Jerry Jaramillo.
As part of the program, outdoor sculptures are displayed for one year for citizens and visitors to enjoy. Four of the program’s sculptures were among the artwork the public could choose from for the People’s Choice Award: “Wing II” by ML Duffy, Bill Bunting’s “Raising Old Glory” and “With Wings Like Eagles,” and “Dancing Flame” by Jaramillo. As the award winner, Jaramillo will receive a $1,000 prize.
“Dancing Flame” is a steel sculpture that’s welded from the drum of a truck, with both rusted and polished sides of the flame. Jerry Jaramillo is a world-renowned Colorado artist who has 25 years of experience in mixed media for private and public interests in Colorado, Arizona, Florida, New Mexico, Washington and Mexico.
This award is sponsored by the Brighton Cultural Arts Commission and the Brighton Public Art Committee.
