A new public health order by the Tri-County Health Department requires face coverings to be worn in all public indoor spaces in Adams County effective Wednesday, November 24, 2021 through January 2, 2022. According to Tri-County Health, the public health order comes in response to COVID-19 hospitalizations surging in Adams, Arapahoe and other counties in Colorado. The public health order will remain in effect until staffed ICU beds availability is above 10-percent for 14 consecutive days, unless extended, rescinded or amended by TCHD.

Per the public health order, individuals ages two years and older, including fully-vaccinated individuals, will be required to wear face coverings while in public indoor spaces.

Face coverings will be required in all City of Brighton buildings, including City Hall, Historic City Hall, the Brighton Police Department, the Brighton Recreation Center, Eagle View Adult Center and The Armory Performing Arts Center. 

Exemptions include individuals under the age of two years, those who can’t medically tolerate a face mask, and businesses and facilities that implement a voluntary vaccine verification program. Additional exceptions to face covering requirements include individuals who are in a swimming pool and those engaged in gymnastics, tumbling, cheer or wrestling.
