The City of Brighton will be celebrating its annual Tree Lighting Ceremony one week before its annual Festival of Lights Parade. The annual tradition will take place Saturday, Dec. 4 at 5 p.m. at Founders Plaza on Main and Bridge streets.
“We are excited to put a new spin on the annual Tree Lighting ceremony and bring it to Founders Plaza in the heart of downtown,” said Gary Montoya, Events and Downtown Initiative Manager. “We have a full afternoon of family-friendly activities planned with a finale that is sure to get everyone in the holiday spirit.”
Prior to the ceremony, the public can visit Main Street Creatives Gallery (36 S. Main Street) from 2 - 4 p.m. for fun activities like Santa Comes to Town and The Teddy Bear & Friends Tree.
Face Vocal Band, the internationally acclaimed all-vocal rock band from Boulder, will be performing from 5 - 7 p.m. on S. Main St. in front of Founders Plaza. FACE will help City Council countdown as the Christmas Tree is lit at 5 p.m.
The Tree Lighting is sponsored by United Power and entertainment is sponsored by the Brighton Cultural Arts Commission and SCFD.
