[ARCHIVED] City of Brighton welcomes back traditional Tree Lighting Ceremony

The City of Brighton will be celebrating its annual Tree Lighting sponsored by United Power this December, one week before its annual Festival of Lights Parade. The annual tradition will take place Saturday, Dec. 4 at 5 p.m. at Founders Plaza on Main and Bridge streets.

“We are excited to put a new spin on the annual Tree Lighting ceremony and bring it to Founders Plaza in the heart of downtown,” said Gary Montoya, Events and Downtown Initiative Manager. “We have a full afternoon of family-friendly activities planned with a finale that is sure to get everyone in the holiday spirit.”

Prior to the ceremony, the public can visit Main Street Creatives Gallery (36 S. Main Street) from 2 - 4 p.m. for fun activities like Santa Comes to Town and The Teddy Bear & Friends Tree.

Face Vocal Band, the internationally acclaimed all-vocal rock band from Boulder, will be performing from 5 - 7 p.m. on S. Main St. in front of Founders Plaza. FACE will help City Council countdown as the Christmas Tree is lit at 5 p.m.
