Today around 3:45 p.m., Brighton Police received information from our law enforcement partners (Safe Streets) about the possible location of a suspect, Rigoberto Valles Dominguez (DOB 03/06/88), from the shooting of a Littleton Police officer, inside a residence located at the 1100 block of 27th Avenue. As officers were attempting to confirm the information provided, Dominguez barricaded himself inside the home.
The combined Brighton/Commerce City S.W.A.T. responded and began attempting to communicate with the suspect to resolve the situation peacefully. Several law enforcement partners responded to assist with this incident including Adams County Sheriff’s Office and Aurora Police Department.
As a result, 27th Avenue between Bromley Lane and Eagle Boulevard was closed for the duration of the incident. The situation was contained to the single residence, which is isolated in a field, and therefore there was not a need to evacuate or shelter any other homes in the area.
Around 10:40 p.m. the suspect was taken into custody without incident. There were no injuries to officers or the suspect in this case.
We would like to thank the public for their patience during this incident and our law enforcement partners who assisted us in taking this dangerous individual into custody.
