Police lights

On Saturday, August 28, 2021, at approximately 7:30 a.m., Brighton police officers were dispatched to Interstate 76 (I-76) between Eagle Blvd. and Bromley Lane for a rollover crash. The crash resulted in the death  of an adult female and adult male. Additionally, two other adults sustained serious injuries.

The occupants were traveling from New York to Arizona in a Chevy Silverado Truck. The truck left the roadway, rolling several times. Three of the four occupants of the truck were ejected from the vehicle. Two of  those ejected died as a result of their injuries. One of the females died at the crash scene, and one of the adult  males died as he was being transported to a trauma center. The other two adults remain in the hospital with  serious injuries but stable conditions. The early stages of the investigation revealed possible fatigue and drugs  were factors in the crash.

Names of the involved parties are being withheld at this point pending notification of next of kin.

Anyone with information about this crash is urged to contact the Brighton Police Department at (303) 288-1535.
