[ARCHIVED] Tornado siren test on June 17 at 1:30 p.m.
During our most recent severe weather event, it was reported that a number of tornado sirens did not provide the appropriate alert. We recently serviced a number of the individual siren units, and an audible test will assist in determining if the issues that occurred earlier this month are issues with the individual sirens, the server or the activation boxes.
This test will be conducted Thursday, June 17, at 1:30 p.m.
As a reminder, the City of Brighton's Outdoor Emergency Warning System is an outdoor siren system that is used to warn the general population of danger in a short amount of time and to notify them that an emergency is occurring. The sirens are used to notify people who are outdoors to seek shelter and additional information on the local hazard. To receive emergency alerts in your home or via cell phone, please register for our CodeRed alert system by visiting https://www.brightonco.gov/357/Notifications
