Welcome to our special email newsletter providing you with the Zoom links to register for Eagle

View Adult Center programs offered via Zoom.  For some programs, you will need to register in advance to get the Zoom link.  For others, you just click on the Zoom link a few minutes before class time.  Most happenings have a phone-in option as well.   All programs are offered FREE of charge.  Full descriptions of the programs are available in the printed Senior Pride.  

 

Note:   For many of the programs and classes in June, you can choose to attend in person or via Zoom.  If you wish to attend in person, you need to register in advance at EVAC or by phone at 303-655-2075.

          

 

Eagle View Adult Center Update

 

Eagle View Adult Center is open on a limited bases.  Due to restrictions, most programs and activities will require advanced registration by calling 303-655-2075.  Hours of operation are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.  All unvaccinated patrons should continue to wear masks inside the facility at all times. All patrons are asked to social distance by 6-feet.  

After the first week, we have discovered that we will NOT need to take reservations for Coffee Corner.  Beginning next week, folks are welcome to come between 8:15 - 10:15 am.  We will continue to have a volunteer serve the coffee to the patrons.

Feathered Friends:  Great Horned Owl   (Wed. May 26 @ 1:00 p.m.)

Join Ann Price from the Raptor Education Foundation for a special Zoom program where our guest will be the “tiger of the sky”, a.k.a. the great-horned owl.  The largest and most common owl in Colorado, this resourceful and urban-adapted predator is also the most frequently seen species of owl in our state.

 Happenings - June

 

June happenings are offered in-person at Eagle View, by Zoom, or a combination of both.  

 

In-Person:  If you are attending in-person you must register by phone or in-person at EVAC by the deadline.  Seating is limited.  Some speakers will attend in person, others will be shown on the theater screen.  Programs available to attend in-person classes will state “EVAC” in the title. 

 

Zoom:  If you are attending by Zoom - in most cases you will be asked to register in advance.  For other programs click on the zoom link a few minutes before class time.  Most happenings have a phone-in option.

 

The Story of Lucille Ball - Zoom only   (Wed. June 2 @ 1:00 p.m.) 

Learn how Lucille Ball became the most powerful businesswoman in Hollywood in this fun program by Evan Weiner a veteran radio broadcaster. Lucille Ball should never have been a Hollywood studio mogul.  She was told she didn’t have it to be an actress, she ended up proving herself in a Three Stooges short.  She was a B-movie star who married Desi Arnaz and nearly divorced.  Her movie career was done by she was 35.  She went into radio, had some success, and was offered a chance at TV.  There were many obstacles and the “I Love Lucy” show nearly never got on the air.   Lucky for us the show was a success and Lucy became a comedic icon.  Register in advance for this Zoom only program or join by phone the day of the program.

The 10th Mountain Division - EVAC & Zoom   (Wed. June 9 @ 12:30 p.m.)

Tinnitus Talk - EVAC & Zoom   (Tues. June 29 @ 12:30 p.m.) 

Are you (or someone you know) plagued with a constant buzzing, hissing, ringing, or another sound in your ears or head?  If so, you are among 50 million people in the U.S. that experience tinnitus.  John Wilson, B.S., BC-HIS, owner of Blue Ribbon Hearing & Tinnitus Center in Brighton will be giving an informational presentation on Tinnitus including causes (many not related to hearing loss) and potential treatment options.  Lots of time for questions.  Register in advance at EVAC to attend in person or online to attend by Zoom.
