Brighton Recreation Center announces early 2021 sports programs

The Brighton Recreation Center is gearing up for 2021 with new and returning annual sports programs. From a new Basketball Skills Challenge to the Skyhawks Sports Clinics, below are the programs coming starting January 2021. COVID-19 health and safety guidelines at the time of these programs will apply.  Details for registration are below.

Brighton Basketball Skills Challenge:

Brighton Sports has decided to launch their own basketball skills challenge in replacement of the yearly Nuggets Skills Challenge. Athletes will be able to compete in the basketball skills challenge on Jan. 23, 2021. Boys and girls ages 6-13 years old are invited to show their skills in shooting, passing and dribbling. The top three contestants from each age group will advance to the City’s Championship competition on Jan. 30, 2021. Both competitions will be by reservation only to limit the number of people in the gym. One spectator will be allowed to cheer on each player. The cost to participate is $5. All fees go towards trophies for the champions of each age group. Spots are limited, so be sure to register soon by calling 303-655-2200 or registering online at Brighton Basketball Skills Challenge.

Skyhawks Sport Clinics:

Skyhawks is coming to Brighton with three drill-packed clinics! An active day of either volleyball or basketball drills makes this one of Skyhawks’ most popular programs. These fun, skill-intensive programs are designed for beginning to intermediate players. Participants can sign up for either Jan. 25 or March 15 for the volleyball clinic or Feb. 22 for the basketball clinic. All one-day camps run from 1- 4 p.m. and cost $54 per player. Spots are limited - register today at or call 303-222-8039.

Co-Ed 4v4 Adult Volleyball League:

Join our upcoming 4v4 Adult Volleyball League that’s scheduled to start on Jan. 26. Payment will be collected on Jan. 22 (not at the time of registration) - this is to guarantee that the league will be able to run according to current health guidelines. The league will run on Tuesdays from 6 - 9 p.m. Teams will self-officiate with a site supervisor who will be available to answer questions and assist with game time management. League champions will receive championship shirts. Register today by calling 303-655-2200. The registration deadline is Jan. 19.

If you have questions, please contact Carleen Watts, Sports Recreation Supervisor, at or 303-655-2208.
