City of Brighton residents can now view progress on major capital projects on the Capital Project Report Card, a new project dashboard on the City’s website. The projects highlighted on the dashboard are ones budgeted for the current year and include descriptions of each and a color-coded update on status (complete, on track, delayed, or disruption).
Capital projects are permanent additions to or expansions of the City's assets, including design, construction, and purchase of land, buildings, and facilities. The City utilizes separate funds to budget and track capital projects dependent on their function. These include the Capital Improvement Fund, Parks Capital Improvement Fund, Lottery Fund, Water Fund, Wastewater Fund, and Storm Drainage Fund.
“With Brighton’s growth comes many projects, so we are constantly looking for new ways to keep residents informed,” said Maria Ostrom, Finance Director for the City of Brighton. “This new dashboard is a great way to keep the community in the loop on the progress of the City’s capital projects.”
