After several months of closures due to the pandemic, the Brighton Recreation Center is bringing back its preschool and drop-in child care programs this fall. Starting at 7:30 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 9, registration for the preschool programs will open for residents (in-person and online). Registration will open at noon for non-residents (in-person and online). Drop-in child care will be available starting on Monday, Oct. 19 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8 - 10:30 a.m. Reservations for child care are encouraged, but not required.
Preschool programs are age-specific so children have similar skill levels. Classes include learning the basics for a successful classroom environment and socialization skills. Masks will be required for all preschool student participants. To register, go to https://webtrac.brightonco.gov/wbwsc/webtrac.wsc/splash.html or call 303-655-2200. For more information, visit www.brightonco.gov/635/Preschool-Age-Programs.
Drop-in child care is for children ages six months to seven years old. The cost is $3 per hour per child. Masks will be required for all children ages three years old and older. Temperature checks will be required upon entering the building. Any child with a temperature of 100.4-degrees or higher, as well as any child showing symptoms (coughing, runny nose, fever, diarrhea, vomiting, shortness of breath, etc.) will not be permitted in the child care area. Space is limited. To reserve a spot, go to www.groupexpro.com/schedule/538/?view=calendar or call 303-655-2200. Reservations can be made up to 48 hours in advance.
