The City of Brighton’s Finance Department has been awarded the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for the fiscal period beginning on January 1, 2020. According to the Association, this award is the highest form of recognition in governmental budgeting. 

The City of Brighton is among 1,600 participants in the Budget Awards Program. To receive the award, the City’s Finance Department was required to meet nationally-recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation.

Regarding the City of Brighton 2020 Budget, reviewers commented “Overall, this budget presentation is an exemplary strategic management plan that will lead the City into the future with confidence and sound financial and operational planning.”
