The City of Brighton encourages residents to apply for the new COVID-19 Child Care Assistance Grant. Funding for the grant comes from the federal CARES Act and provides assistance to Brighton residents facing financial hardship due to COVID-19 or increased child care needs due to COVID-19.
To qualify for the COVID-19 Child Care Assistance Grant, you must meet the following criteria:
Must be a current resident of the City of Brighton.
Be able to prove lawful presence in the United States.
Must be using a child care provider that meets all licensing requirements for the jurisdiction in which it is located and the State of Colorado, and must be able to provide proof of proper licensing.
Must provide proof that each child applied for is a dependent of the grant applicant.
Must be able to demonstrate financial need due to COVID-19-related job loss, reduction of work hours, or decline in income.
Must be able to show increased child care needs due to COVID-19.
These are federal funds passed through via the CARES Act and subject to Federal reporting and eligibility requirements. Grants cannot be used for family members residing outside the City of Brighton. The deadline to submit an application is Sept. 25, 2020.
