The City of Brighton is seeking volunteers from the community to help plant trees for its upcoming Tree Planting Project on Aug. 28. The event is set to take place from 8 a.m. to noon at Colorado Park located at 265 Miller Avenue. With guidance from Brighton’s City Forester, volunteers will help plant 40 new trees to spruce up the park, while also learning proper techniques to give a tree the greatest chance of survival.
Out of COVID-19-related health and safety precautions, volunteers will be working in small groups to allow for social distancing based on the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment guidelines at the time of planting. To help keep people safe, please remember to bring your own gardening gloves and face covering. Face coverings will be required (except for people with a disability or under the age of two years old) when less than six feet from others of a different household.
