Brighton Recreation Center to expand capacity, allow drop-ins

rec center news flash

The Brighton Recreation Center will be entering phase two of its reopening on July 6, transitioning from reservations-only to allowing drop-ins with its expanded capacity. The hours of operation are Mondays through Fridays from 6 a.m. - 7 p.m. (all guests will be asked to leave during cleaning closures from 10 - 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 - 3 p.m.), Saturdays from 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (cleaning closure from 11:30 - noon), and Sundays from noon - 4 p.m. (spot cleaning will be done throughout the day).

Some of the Recreation Center’s amenities will still require reservation, including racquetball courts and pool entry. Patrons can book their space through the Brighton Recreation Center app, online, by phone at 303-655-2200, or by walk-in up to 48 hours in advance. Reservations close one hour before the reservation time.

Leisure family swim will move to a call (303-655-2200) or walk-in only reservation up to 48 hours in advance. Slide hours will be 10:30 a.m. - 7 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and all day on weekends. Payment is due at the time of reservation. Patrons are welcome to use their memberships, HH credits or cash, check or credit cards.

Fitness classes will continue on a reservation schedule. Booking a spot or space can be done by visiting the Rec Center app, website, calling 303-655-2200, or by walk-in up to 48 hours in advance. Reservations close one hour prior to the reservation time. If no reservation is made an hour before a class start time, the class will change to virtual for a drop-in option.

Drop-in pickleball will be offered Mondays through Fridays from 6 - 10 a.m. Two pickleball courts will be set up for games. All games will be required to stop promptly at 10 a.m. for one of the facility’s cleaning closures. (Note: For the week of July 13, drop-in pickleball won’t be available due to a basketball camp. The gym will be closed to the public that week from 8:30 a.m. - noon.)

State guidelines of social distancing still apply. Masks will be required inside the Rec Center facility (except for those under two-years-old and people with a disability), but are optional if outside the building.
