The City of Brighton is updating its long-range planning vision for parks and recreation, greenways and trails, and open space and invites the community to give input at its upcoming public meetings:

    June 24: For Ward 1 residents

    June 25: For Ward 2 residents

    July 8: For Ward 3 residents

    July 9: For Ward 4 residents 

All meetings are set for 5:30 - 7 p.m. and will take place at the Brighton Recreation Center (555 N. 11th Ave.) and can also be seen virtually through Zoom (details below). For residents who plan to attend the meeting in person, please RSVP by calling 303-655-2206.

The Parks and Recreation Master Plan will evaluate current and future needs and desires of existing parks and recreational facilities including trails, open space, programs, and services. The City is hoping to hear from residents, business owners, special interest groups, and any other interested parties to provide input on the goals and objectives of this planning effort. 

In addition to public feedback, a needs assessment will be conducted as part of the city-wide effort to get residents’ input. The results will be utilized to determine the priorities for the City’s recreational facilities and activities, and what funding sources and potential partnerships can be utilized to make those priorities happen.

The City of Brighton has hired GreenPlay LLC, a nationally-known parks and recreation management consulting firm, to oversee the plan.
