Drive-Thru Zoom Help (Mon. June 15 @ 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon)

Get one-on-one help learning how to load Zoom on your device, join a meeting, and more. Lisa Asmussen will be at Eagle View for “drive-thru” assistance from the safety of your car. Call 303-655-2075 to book your 20-minute appointment. At your appointment time drive to the Eagle View front door and park in the circle drive. Stay in your car as Lisa guides you through the steps to use Zoom. Bring a fully charged laptop, tablet, or phone. Masks are required!

Move It or Lose It! (Tues. June 16 @ 9:00 a.m.)

Improve your leg and upper body strength, balance, and posture. Class designed to accommodate everyone - seated or standing. Be ready with a good sturdy chair, two hand weights (or water bottles/cans of food), and a fitness band or dish towel. Instructor: Rosalie Farrer.

Yoga for All Levels (Tues. June 16 @ 10:30 a.m.)

Instructor Carolyn Priola will show how to modify positions for both beginning and intermediate level participants, who have recent yoga experience. You will need a yoga mat and the ability to get onto and up from the floor. Class is NOT for people trying yoga for the first time.

Denver Pops Watch Party (Tues. June 16 @ 2:00 p.m.)

The Denver Pops is always a popular trip, so we are having a watch party on Zoom instead! Join us as we welcome the Denver Pops director, Ron Argotsinger. He will provide some background information on the orchestra and introduce the performance video, which we will then all view at the same time. This is the first part of their virtual videos taken during Covid-19. Afterwards we will stay on Zoom for Q & A.

Agnes Wright Spring 1894-1988, Woman for the Job (Sat. June 20 @ 1:30 p.m.)  The Colorado History Museum’s Colorado Women Lecture Series highlights Agnes Wright Spring - an author, suffragist, and historian. No Technology – No Problem: TV and Telephone Ideas for Fun

Telephone Bingo (Fri. June 19 @ 12:30 p.m.)  If you are receiving Volunteers of America (VOA) delivered meals, you will receive a bingo card sheet with your meal delivery on Thursday, June 18 and the phone number to join telephone bingo. Bingo will be played on Friday, June 19 at 12:30 p.m. Call a few minutes before to get connected. Jamie Russman from Cigna Medicare is providing this fun opportunity.

TV Shows on PBS (Antenna Channel 6.1 or check your cable/dish guide) Quality television programs with limited commercials. Suggested shows you might enjoy:

American Masters - Mae West: Dirty Blonde (Tues. June 16 @ 7:00 - 8:30 p.m.)  Dive into the life and career of groundbreaking writer, performer,and subversive star Mae West. Over a career spanning eight decades, she broke boundaries and possessed creative and economic powers unheard of for a female entertainer in the 1930s.

Erma Bombeck: Legacy of Laughter (Wed. June 17 @ 3:00 - 3:30 p.m.)  Learn about the extraordinary life and career of beloved American humorist Erma Bombeck (1927-1996), whose honest tales of domestic life gave voice to millions of homemakers. The show traces Bombeck’s life from her childhood during the Depression to her work as a women’s rights activist.

Quilt in a Day: Monitor Barn w/Hole in Barn Door (Sat. June 20 @ 8:00 - 8:30 a.m.)  Eleanor starts the quilting series by piecing a barn from fabric. Note: Quilt in a Day airs every Saturday at 8:00 a.m.

Brighton Food Pantry’s  Are you or someone you know in need of food? Both locations listed below ask that you do not get out of your car; they will give you instructions when you arrive.

- St. Augustine, 129 S. 6th Ave. - Tues. June 16 and Thurs. June 18 from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

- Community Baptist, 15559 Weld County Road 2 - Tues. June 16 from 11:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.

VOA Meal Delivery  Volunteers of America can provide a box of five frozen meals delivered to your home. You must be 60 or older and be a resident of Brighton. The suggested contribution for the meals is $2.50 meal or $12.50 per box. The ability to pay is not the deciding factor if you are eligible. Boxes are delivered on Thursdays. If interested, call 303-655-2075 and leave your name and phone number.
