City of Brighton City Manager Manuel Esquibel announces the appointment of Curtis Bauers to Director of Utilities. Director Bauers’ first day is today. In this role, Bauers will oversee the Utilities Department which includes the following divisions: reverse osmosis water treatment plant, Water Distribution Maintenance, Water Resources, utility billing, utility engineering, wastewater treatment plant, wastewater collection maintenance and stormwater.
Prior to joining the City of Brighton, Bauers served as the Water Systems Manager for the South Adams County Water & Sanitation District. He also served as a senior engineer and regional manager for Environmental Management Resources, Inc. in Minneapolis and as an engineer for EnecoTech Midwest, Inc. in Eagan, Minn.
“Curtis brings a wealth of experience to this position and we are pleased to have him on our team,” City Manager Esquibel said.
Bauers received his bachelor’s degree in geological engineering with an emphasis in water resources from the University of Minnesota. He is a member of the American Water Works Association, Water Environment Federation, National Society of Professional Engineers, National Groundwater Association, and the Society of American Military Engineers.
