The Brighton Police Department has completed an investigation into a situation that occurred at Donelson Park on Sunday, April 5.
The department has taken necessary corrective action regarding the officers involved in the incident. In addition to corrective action, the department identified training needs during regular patrol briefings, reviewed public health orders and city closures, and emphasized the importance of all officers wearing proper personal protective equipment when in public.
Acting City Manager Marv Falconburg and Brighton Police Commander Frank Acosta have since met in person with Matt Mooney, the person involved in the incident, and offered their deepest apologies to Mr. Mooney, his wife and daughter.
