More than 70 participants from the Brighton area participated in the Denver Nuggets Basketball Skills Challenge Competition on Dec. 14 and 16 basketball players are heading to the Sectionals Competitions and preparing to compete in a state competition in the Spring of 2020.
The Brighton Recreation Center hosted this local competition at Brighton High School. The following participants earned first and second place honors in their respective age groups:

These participants will now move on and compete in the Sectionals challenge on Sunday, Feb. 23 in Windsor. Winners of the Sectional will compete at the state competition in conjunction with the Denver Nuggets game on Saturday, April 12.
The Denver Nuggets Basketball Skills Challenge is a basketball competition that allows children to showcase their talents in dribbling, passing and shooting. It is a youth program of the Colorado Parks & Recreation Association and the Denver Nuggets.
