The Brighton Youth Commission is currently seeking an adult member to fill an open position on the commission. Requirements for the position are as follows:
•Must live within the city limits of Brighton;
•Be between the ages of 19 – 30;
•Members must commit to a two-year term. Meetings are held twice a month at 5:30 p.m. Additional committee meetings may be necessary;
•Be open to engaging in and fostering effective youth- adult partnerships
The Brighton Youth Commission (BYC) is a body of 20 youth and 6 adults that are appointed by City Council to study matters and plan events impacting youth and families in The City of Brighton. The Brighton Youth Commissioners go through an application process and are selected based on leadership, commitment, and desire to make an impact in their community. They are representatives for the city and their specific schools. The Brighton Youth Commissioners meet twice a month, serve at community events, and host special service projects throughout the year.
