Drought is an inevitable feature in any environment, especially in the semi-arid region in which we live in along the Front Range. Drought can cause serious water shortages that can impact the health and safety, the economic well-being, and individual lifestyles of citizens.
In order to be prepared for water supply shortages, the City of Brighton adopted a Drought Management Plan in 2012. This plan includes an updated drought stage index, categorized into four, color-coded drought stages. Each of these drought stages contains specific goals and specific required actions. Please continue to monitor for Drought Stage Declarations, including mandatory restrictions.
