The City of Brighton is in the process of developing its first comprehensive Sustainability Plan! For the last several months staff has identified departmental sustainability priorities and capacity to implement new sustainability programming. As of January 2024, the plan will be moving into the outreach phase that will be composed of two in-person outreach events, interviews with all relevant stakeholder groups, and a short five question survey that will be sent out to the community as a mailer. The survey will stay open for a month and will collect information about resident priorities to ensure that the goals outlined in the plan align with community needs. The results of the survey and data collected during the interviews and outreach events will be included in the final recommendations for the sustainability plan and will be presented to Council in Spring of 2024.
