You’re invited to celebrate Independence Day with the City of Brighton

Celebrate Independence Day with the City of Brighton Wednesday, July 4 from 4-10 p.m. at Carmichael Park, 650 E. Southern Street. This special event will feature free activities for the whole family, music and a variety of food vendors.

DJ Tidalwave will kick off the musical entertainment at 5 p.m. consisting of interactive activities, group dancing and more.


The entertainment will continue with Soul School, a high energy dance band, at 7 p.m. Soul School’s performance will feature a vast repertoire of music which includes Golden Oldies, Beach, Motown, County, Jazz, Rock, Funk, Rhythm and Blues, and Contemporary. The group will satisfy all musical tastes, from tight harmonious vocals and smooth jazz to an all-out dance party.


Residents are advised to bring the following items:

  • lawn chairs
  • blankets
  • bug spray
  • sunscreen
  • friends and family
  • camera or smartphone

We encourage you to stay after the concert for one of the region’s largest firework displays! We are pleased to announce our fireworks show is returning to the east side of Vikan Middle School this year. For more information contact the City’s Special Events Division at 303-655-2218.
