Police seek victim of hit and run crash

Brighton police are trying to locate the owner of a car which was struck in a hit-and-run crash in the parking lot of Target, 2171 Prairie Center Drive, at about 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 12th.

Witnesses say a red vehicle hurriedly leaving the parking lot struck a dark-colored sedan in the right rear quarter panel before leaving the scene of the crash. Video obtained from the store shows the red suspect vehicle crash into the victim’s car with enough force to make it shake, leading police to believe the victim vehicle suffered noticeable damage. It is likely the victim vehicle will have some red paint transfer in the area of the damage.

Police would like to speak to the owner of the darker car in connection to a separate event involving the occupants of the red car. Anyone with information that could lead to the identification the drivers or owners of either vehicle is asked to call Detective Mike Payne at (303) 655-2367.
