Citizen receives Distinguished Service Award

Cooper, Doug Dist Service award 080817

On Aug. 9, local business owner Doug Cooper was presented with a Citizen Distinguished Service Award by Chief Paul Southard and Victim Advocate Alexis Gutierrez. In a short ceremony in the police department lobby, Doug, owner of Eagle View Contracting, was given the award for his assistance to the department in 2016.

Although Eagle View typically handles large-scale construction projects, which we’re certain pay better and don’t require him to come out in the middle of the night, Doug makes himself available at all hours to secure the homes of crime victims. Whether this means changing locks, re-securing a damaged door, or boarding-up a broken window until it can be replaced, Doug helps crime victims regain a sense of security and control over their personal safety, and is known for treating victims with dignity and compassion. For significant service and assistance rendered to Brighton police and the victims they serve, Doug Cooper is the recipient of a Citizen Distinguished Service Award for 2016.
